Cape Hot Spot

“The Cape Whale Coast, stretching from Rooi Els to Quoin Point in the Western Cape, is unique in its combination of rich and abundant biodiversity, spectacular scenery and cultural heritage. In December 2014, this will be one of six Mission Blue Hope Spots launched by Sylvia Earle in South Africa.

Hope Spots are marine sites that are critical to the health of our oceans, and Mission Blue is an ocean community hub that aims to elevate public awareness about critical ocean issues.”
